Clearwater, Florida
Attorneys serving Clearwater and Pinellas County.
DHW Law, P.A. has practiced in Clearwater and the surrounding communities for twenty years. Board-certified real estate, Supreme Court certified mediation, and full-service counsel for families and small businesses, from a firm that lives where you do.
Our connection to Clearwater
Clearwater is a 35 minute drive from our Lutz office on a normal day, and the Pinellas County Courthouse in Clearwater is where nearly all of our Pinellas side civil and family matters are heard. That makes Clearwater an unusually natural geography for this firm. Even though our office sits in Pasco County, our footprint in the Clearwater courthouse is a weekly one. David Walkowiak's board certification in real estate law and Gwen Walkowiak's family law practice together cover the matters Clearwater clients most often need handled.
The Clearwater practice
Family law is a larger share of our Clearwater work than of our practice overall. Clearwater divorces, custody modifications, and paternity matters are filed in the Pinellas County Sixth Judicial Circuit in Clearwater, and Gwen Walkowiak appears there regularly. Her work is primarily uncontested and collaborative divorces, custody agreements that respect both parents, and the less visible but more important work of keeping Clearwater parents out of open court conflict when their children are involved.
Real estate is the second pillar of our Clearwater practice. Clearwater and Clearwater Beach produce a mix of luxury waterfront transactions, older home title issues in neighborhoods like Harbor Oaks, and investment property disputes. David Walkowiak’s Florida Bar board certification in real estate law is the reason most real estate referrals reach us, and it is the reason clients with closing deadline pressure choose a board certified attorney over a general practice firm.
Personal injury, mediation, and estate planning round out the practice. For Clearwater clients who need mediation, particularly Supreme Court certified civil mediation, David is either the neutral on the matter or the client’s counsel depending on who retained us.
Why a Pasco firm for a Clearwater matter
Clearwater has many firms. The argument for hiring a firm that sits thirty minutes east is not geography. It is ownership. Clearwater clients who have dealt with volume firms, where case managers schedule calls with rotating attorneys, notice the difference immediately when David or Gwen handles the matter from intake to resolution. Twenty years of continuous practice in the same office, with the same two partners, and the same small roster of trusted referral partners. That is the offer, and it is the reason Clearwater clients refer friends and family back to us years after their own matters close.
